About

Car or Ferry Transfer Between Mombasa and Diani Beach

Diani Beach lies on the south coast of Kenya, separated from Mombasa Island by the Likoni Channel. All road transfers from Mombasa to Diani include the free Likoni vehicle ferry, which operates 24 hours a day. During peak hours, waiting times can extend to 30–45 minutes, so early departures are recommended.

Travelers arriving at Mombasa Moi Airport (MBA) or the SGR Miritini station can book a direct private transfer to their Diani resort. The route along the B8 coastal road passes through Ukunda town before reaching the Diani Beach strip.

Safarilink and Jambojet also operate direct flights from Nairobi’s Wilson Airport to Ukunda Airport (UKA), landing just 10 minutes’ drive from most Diani hotels, which eliminates the ferry wait entirely.

This route links Mombasa with Diani Beach, and travelers can continue to Malindi or Tsavo.

MadaAssist have been utterly brilliant! Extremely helpful, polite, patient and efficient. 5 stars are too few! I went on a city tour today with Christian (arranged by MadaAssist) and for 7.5 hours he showed me the entire city centre including some of the seedier bits which are usually interesting. As an ex fly half he could handle himself and I felt totally safe. I would rheartily recommend him and MadaAssist to anyone visiting this fair land.

I just completed a 22-day trip through Madagascar, including Morondaba, Tsingy, Belo Sur, Ifaty, Ranohira, Ranomafana, and the Pangalanes Channel, among other places. The overall experience was good, except for a minor initial disagreement regarding the agreed-upon price and some unexpected hotel changes. Communication with them is always quick and easy, and the payment method is secure. A special mention goes to our driver and guide, Antsa, a true gem. Besides being an excellent driver, he was always kind, friendly, helpful, and committed to making everything easier.

The tour was interesting, and the driver was good. However, we feel the travel agency should have informed us in advance about the guides who wait at the park entrances and accompany tourists to geysers and waterfalls. The booking confirmation made no mention of this at all; it only stated that park entrance fees, food, and drinks were not included. When we have no idea how much the guide’s services will cost, we don't know how much cash to bring, since credit cards aren't accepted in places like that.
