About

Fort Jesus and the Historic Heart of Mombasa

Fort Jesus was built by the Portuguese in 1593 and is one of the most important historical landmarks on the East African coast. Today, it houses a museum showcasing artifacts from Portuguese, Arab, and British periods, reflecting Mombasa’s strategic role in Indian Ocean trade.

Mombasa Old Town lies just outside the fort walls and is known for its blend of Swahili, Arab, and European influences. Wooden balconies, carved doors, mosques, and bustling streets tell the story of centuries of cultural exchange.

This tour offers an authentic introduction to Mombasa’s heritage, making it an excellent choice for history lovers, culture enthusiasts, and visitors with limited time.

Rapid, accurate, helpful responses. World class service that I wish was available in other countries. Makes travel arrangements and payments that were previously extremely difficult a breeze. Thank you!

Price is very okay.

We used this service three times - once in Zanzibar and twice in Arusha. All of these trips were associated with pick up’s or drop off at airports. The communication and services were excellent.

Make sure you use military time as 9:30 pm may be taken as 09:30 AM. All of the drivers went prompt, easy to communicate with and had nice vehicles.

The pricing was competitive and we liked paying upfront for the rides. I would not hesitate to use these services again or to recommend them to fellow travelers.

We contacted MadaAssist at the last minute. We had a change of travel plan unexpectedly.

They were able to come up with a solution to my problem and find a wonderful driver in a location in Madagascar that they don’t usually provide service for, and it was all done in about 20 minutes.

The driver they found was courteous, friendly and very helpful. We felt completely safe at all times.

Thanks for all your assistance, we were very impressed with your service. Thanks so much
